For
some who play the Auction House game it is a the most pure form of
Player versus Player competition there is. And for some of the players
that look at it in this way they look at all other player with a sense
of disdain. For others though there is a sense of camaraderie for those
of us who have found a different way to play the game within the game
that is World of Warcraft.
If
you are one who wants to participate in the community that is auction
house players I have a few suggestions. First I am sharing with my real
life and in game friends my tips and techniques. That is one reason
this blog exists. Next I would strongly suggest checking out the The Consortium WoW Gold Forums. There is a strong sense of community and knowledge sharing going on here.
After
immersing myself in the Consortium WoW Gold Forums, I would branch out
to read several blogs on gold making in World of Warcraft. There are a
large number of gold bloggers, there always seems to be new ones getting
into the scene to replace others that leave or go silent.
And
lastly I would start to sample the vast array of multimedia offerings
focusing on gold making. Podcasts make a great addition to both
entertainment and education on a variety of topics. While the number of
gold making podcasts is very small compared to the number of podcasts
that focus on the game in general there are a few that I can strongly
suggest.
After podcasts, there are videocasts and live blogging that are also incredibly educational and entertaining.
Multimedia suggestions:
The
first place for a new gold maker to be exposed to new ideas is the
weekly feature on WOW Insider titled Gold Capped. Gold Capped is
written in a very approachable way for all new to more experienced gold
makers.

Jim
provides a wealth of information to all levels of gold makers over at
Power Word Gold. Not only does he maintain a great blog, he publishes
an outstanding podcast with his guest host Faid and he also live streams
his gold making and gaming over on youtube.

Faid runs her own blog, and publishes her own gaming live streams over at Clockwork Riot.

When
you log into your server’s page on the Undermine Journal the front page
has a sampling of recent articles posted across the community. This
can be an introduction to new blogs to read.

If
you only have time for one gold making podcast I would partake of Jim
and Faid’s Power Word Gold. But if you have bandwidth for a second I
would also suggest listening to Call to Auction.

Listening
to other players of the auction house discuss their ideas about how to
play the mini game within World of Warcraft can act as incentive to come
up with new ideas of your own.
